Electric Mods

Hey everyone I'm new here and have a couple questions. I am interested in doing some electric cart mods. Is it possible to upgrade to a larger HP motor? if so do you have to change the controller? Are there any standards for electric mods? What are the best systems to do this if possible....36v, 48v, 72v or larger? I am looking to build and electric cart that will turn the tires over as that seems to be the most fun for people. Thanks in advance for any help provided!:mrgreen:
