How to prepare for 7 months Non-Use
Leaving from Florida back home to Michigan next week.
I have a 2002 Club Car 36v, does not have a run/tow switch. I will get it fully charged right before we leave and it will sit til next November. Do I need to disconnect anything on the batteries at all or are there other things I should do for storage. The battery posts will be cleaned and the water levels done. Thanks |

If you do not have a fully automatic charger that will sense the voltage drop and recharge when needed, then just take the Main Pack Negative lead off and this will ensure you have no parasitic drains and the batteries will only lose the current self discharge rate.
Inside and not exposed to high heat is best for their storage. |

A small charger such as this will keep your batteries fully charged all but indefinitely without worry of ever boiling them dry... This is what I used over the winter in place of my DPI it has kept my batteries right at 54 volts...

I would definitely keep them on a float charger.

Re: How to prepare for 7 months Non-Use
I've done exactly what you are facing for a number of years. My 2001 has the run/tow switch, but I go beyond that point. Obviously I set water levels and fully charge first. I place the run/tow in tow mode, disconnect the pack negative and positive cables as well as disconnecting the interconnecting cables on one end to isolate each individual battery, on the chance that a single battery would somehow fail and draw the entire pack down.
Using a maintainer would be ideal if I had electric available in my storage shed while I'm gone, but since I don't this has worked well for me. |

Just did mine too
Filled last week , few run/charge cycles Cleaned, disconnected cables, terminal oil spray No cool storage, (the way it is) Will try to post results when back in use |
