Going Faster?

Hello,

What is involved in making a 2008.5 Precedent go faster? Parts and Cost?

Keep in mind I just want to go a bit faster not like 30mph or anything like that. I'm thinking like 5-7mph faster.

Also does making the cart just a bit faster lower the life of the cart?

Thanks

Tom

Re: Going Faster?

There are 4 speed settings controled by OBC in your cart 1 is around 10, 4 is around 20 all I know have 2 DS of mid 90's. Might serch someone posted what they were once put in by Club Car dealers only.

Re: Going Faster?

i just put a phoenix america speed sensor magnet in mine and got 20 mph for about 24 bucks shipped to my door its alot cheaper than the code 4 reprogram thing and it only takes about 20 mins to install, the magnet only costs like 9.50 and they charged me 13.00 to ship it.its still cheaper than the 95.00 the closest cc dealer wanted for a (HIGH SPEED)magnet....its part #p16c25r4

Re: Going Faster?

The speed code is on the controller not the obc. The controller is limiting the top speed and can be reprogrammed to allow the cart to go faster. The fastest is private speed code 4. This requires a code tyat only an authorized club car dealer can get so this has do be done by the dealer at arount a $100.

The other method is tricking the controller by making it seem that the cart is going slower than it really is by reducing the speed sensor pulses. That is what a speedy link or new speed sensor magnet does.

You will have to do a little research to determine your best route as we have no idea what motor you have or the type speed sensor attached to it.

First of all thanks a bunch for the responses.

Second, can either of these methods be toggled? Like I would like to dial it down when my son in the future will drive it.

Thanks

Tom
