Alltrax axe 4845 controller

2001 txt 36 volt. When wire 4 is connected cart runs slow. When disconnected cart runs good. Is this normal?

Yes. It's 1/2 speed for reverse and the backup beeper. Normally they're connected to MS4 on the attached wiring diagram.

If you meant it always runs slow, forward and reverse, then MS4 could be bad. It's on the back of the FNR.

Thanks. I'm not good with wiring diagrams. Should I keep it disconnected or how do I connect it the right way.

Do you know of anyone who can read a wiring diagram? It's really pretty simple. Microswitch MS4 and MS2 both share a jumper wire, usually red, which should be pack positive referencing pack negative. From there the backup signal or pack positive goes through MS4, which is supposed to be off unless the FNR is in reverse. Then the backup beeper should sound and pack positive goes to controller pin 4 for 1/2 speed. If MS4 is always closed - on - you can just leave it unplugged from controller pin 4 for now. There's nothing wrong with no 1/2 speed reverse, though no backup beeper is not the safest way to go. 1/2 speed reverse is to give you more precise control of the throttle.

Thanks very much. Could it be that the small wires going to the f&r switch got put on the wrong spades. All three were off at one time and I thought that I replaced them on the right spades. They are not color coded. Some idiot painted everything black.

Post a few pics and I'll try and tell you what to connect. Take the cover off of the FNR so I can see the two microswitches.

Use the paperclip to attach pics.

My best guess. I labeled two wires. One should go to the key switch and the other goes to the controller and beeper. Can you tell which is which? Also, there is a spade connector that goes nowhere. Do you know what that is?

The two green wires with spade connectors and plugged in together go from MS2 to the throttle microswitch and is green on the wiring diagram I sent you.

Try and get a closeup on each of the two microswitches. I can't follow the wires, and the only two colors I can make out are green and black spray paint. Use highest resolution and use the paperclip to attach.

Click on the thumbnail I attached up top. That's using the paperclip.
