Re: Charging
Everyone is going to want some more info.
You have a 36v GC charger right? What type of 12v batteries? |
Re: Charging
If you are running 6 12volts you are running 72 volts.
Thus blowing up everything on your controller. If you are running 12v, then you only need 3 batteries. Dustin |
Re: Charging
i do not have 72 volts. i have 36. two banks of 3-12 volt batteries in series, giving me 36 volts, then those banks are in parallel, giving me twice the amperage. i have a resistor cart anyway so there is no controller blowing.
yes, it is a standard 36 volt timer GC charger. i have 12v gel cell batteries by datasafe. they are now golf cart batteries but they work. my only problem is charging them. |
Re: Charging
Gotcha.... Good idea!

Re: Charging
If you have them wired for 36v and charger is 36v wire as if they were 6 6v. One lead from charger receptable to first battery, other lead to last battery in pack. It will take longer charging times.

Re: Charging
Can you draw us a diagram of how you have these wired. I am curious. There could be some problem with drawing from one bank more than the other and the same with the charging circut.....

Is the charger in question a Total Charge? More info on the charger and maybe someone can help you troubleshoot your charger. Are you running 12v backup batteries? |
