Light kit/Need Help! Reducer question 2009 Precedent 4X12V system

I am not understanding the electrical connections per instructions with my RHOX 48V to 12V 20AMP reducer and Redhawk LED light kit. I am instructed to connect the reducer harness into the light harnesses, LGT696 and main bucket harness lgt396, which is to be connected to the third battery and ground behind battery #3. A voltage reading at those two points is 12V. So, if the idea of a reducer is to draw from all of the batteries to eliminate an imbalance, why would I connect it to a harness that is only using battery #3? What am I missing?

What's the part number on the reducer you're trying to install?

Actual number on the label is VOLT-0017, but Jason says it is a part number change for the VOLT-2005.

It is a "plug and play" for the 2008+ club car.

When using the VOLT-2005, you'll need to attach the blue positive wire for your light harness under the seat to the MAIN positive battery post. The negative wire for the light harness will plug into the yellow bullet connector coming from the back of the controller panel. You can find this bullet connector located in the back of the bucket behind battery #4.

Thanks for the info. There are several instances where the reducer for the 4X12's are recommended, but not too many "how to's" available. Most reducer installation videos, as well as instruction sheets assume they are for the 8V batteries.

It doesn't really matter if it is 4x12V or 6x8V, it is still 48V that the reducer connects to (the whole pack) and outputs 12V.
