22 hp predator
 

Had to go to the pennsauken nj HF for work.They had a 22 hp predator on the shelf.First time I have seen one live.

I suspect if vegascarts supplies kits and speed equipment we will be seeing more vtwin conversions.There is 670 cc there.For those who want a new engine with more power than the 460 it is another option.So far install kits and replacement parts really are sparse.Speed equipment non existent.I would guess if VC starts on these engines none of these things will be an issue.

Anyone know about the internals? Is it more on par with typical clone quality? Or closer to a Vanny? ie - have actual bearings, etc. I'd assume it needs to be somewhat better made than typical clones....there's a lot more going on inside one of those.

One of the ultra light guys bought one tore it apart checked clearances and rockwell ratings on major parts and claimed it superior to the vanguard.His only concern was small parts replacements such as gasket sets.He wondered if honda 670 parts were a plug in.Have not seen any more on info on this subject.Don't know if VC has more info either.Some of the mud motor guys were also using them.

I want one lol, but need to find a cart to put one in. I think they need a different carb like most any lawn engine, lawn carbs just suck rocks. I need to order my CV carb soon and get it on my clone, I have everything to put the intake together, it will be spring soon.

Far as I have heard they (the HF v-twin) are much like the previous model honda, but not sure. They do look good; nice 2bbl carb, oil filter, etc.

The other issue is VC isn't selling an engine mount for any yamaha vtwin let alone the 22 hf vtwin.They have a predator vtwin header but is it for a yamaha ? So if you are looking for a bolt in and have a yamaha it's FAB IT UP time. As far as the carb my thought was to swap on a 36 mm CVK with an accelerator pump.

I did my clone with a welder and a chop saw, or maybe I did use the ban saw but its not as much fun.

You were one of the trail blazers. After I got the VC clone swap I used a thread of yours on how to shut it off.
