Any concern or steps before battery disconnect on IQ?

Before tearing down my IQ to do new wiring and lift, is there any chance of loosing my "high speed" programming or other concerns when disconnecting the battery pack? I have read to drain the capacitors once the batts are disconnected, but any thing else to be concerned with? Thanks.

Good question - I've never heard of this? Someone should be along shortly...

The only thing I would worry about is making sure you put it in tow before you disconnect the batteries. The only car you have to discharge the controller on is the DS cars without the IQ setup and the tow/run switch.

So as long as I leave it in tow mode the entire time I'm disconnected, I'm okay with no discharge procedure?

Thanks for the reply. I'm getting close to a tear down, clean, paint and rebuild session. Planning to upgrade cables (they are inbound), put on jakes 3" lift, and 20" tires, and install turn signal wiring kit with horn to my existing head/brake lights. Trying to do it all in one process over a few days, but wanted to make sure I have my ducks in a row.

In tpw disconnect the neg cable first and reconnect in tow neg cable last. After connecting battery pack o vehicle let it sit 1 minute before switching to run.....

Like everyone said above, Place in Tow, Remove (-) cable first...etc.

The Code 4 in your controller will remain as well!
