Alltrax DCX500 recommeded setting for D and D 63-49 motor
All,
can anyone please guide me in the right directions for controller settings for the DCX500 controller with a D and D 63-49 motor? I am finishing my cart sometime today and I left the "recommended" settings from D and D on my desk at work. I do have a feeling that these settings may be a bit conservative anyways. Here is what I am currently running with my 36V setup with my PDS 2005 fleet speed shunt stock motor: I am upgrading to 48V Field map 4 Max output current: 100% Under voltage: 24.0 volts over voltage: 55.0 volts Throttle up rate: 3 Throttle down rate: 3 Brake current: 65% Top speed: 100% High pedal disable: checked Turbo: checked 1/2 speed reverse: checked throttle sensor: ezgo its Throttle response: custom.... I believe they recommended linear I would appreciate a good starting point... I am running 23inch tires and a 6 inch lifted cart with long travel suspension and a backwards rear seat. I ride on dirt roads that are mostly flat here in Orlando. thanks |

Field map 4 (required)
Max output current: 100% (recommended) Under voltage: 24.0 volts (27.5v for 36v, 37.2v for 48v) over voltage: 55.0 volts (just set for 60v) Throttle up rate: 3 (subjective, test and see how you like take-off throttle) Throttle down rate: 3 (double throttle up rate) Brake current: 65% (subjective, 65 is good starting point) Top speed: 100% (duh) High pedal disable: checked (recommended) Turbo: checked (recommended) 1/2 speed reverse: checked (subjective, do you want full throttle reverse or not) throttle sensor: ezgo its (required) |

Plug Brake: Set to OFF for regen braking.
Throttle up rate: 3 (subjective, test and see how you like take-off throttle) It depends on tire height and gear ratio. If you have stock gears and stock height tire, 3 might be a bit much. I had set mine to 2 so I could take off with spinning tire on grass and you have a higher torque motor than I do. If you want to do wheelies, set it higher. Also, it depends of the Throttle Response curve selected. Linear is the most aggressive. Throttle down rate: 3 (double throttle up rate) This determines how soon the regen braking comes on when you lift your foot. The higher the number, the sooner the onset. Brake current: 65% (subjective, 65 is good starting point) You'll probably want to set it higher when you up the pack voltage. Turbo: checked (recommended) Great if you want/need another 1-3 MPH at top end, but generates a lot of motor heat and reduces range if used a lot. |
