Cart Dollies/Platform

I'm thinking about a dolly / platform to haul my cart on the back of my RV. I like the ones I've seen that have the dual "wobble wheels". I don't see many people making them. The states are fuzzy on the legal part too.

Have seen these used before but they don't have the wheels on the back corners.

The one I've been interested in hinges at 2 pts. on the back bumper and has the wobble wheels on the back corners which are spring loaded for the ride control

I think i would steer-clear(no pun intended!) of the wheel-type.You have to keep in mind the extra pounding its' going to give your cart and rv.Even though they are sprung, they will be minimum help, more than likely.A good, mounted carrier,i think will be a better option.Just make sure your hitch-frame is meant to carry weight other than a bike-rack.Some of the rv rear-hitches are meant for bikes,etc.. and don't have much weight capacity, even though they have a class-3 receiver-tube.They mount them to minimal framing underneath and trying to hang close to 1,000lbs. could become a problem.I've worked on a lot of the larger Diesel-Pusher RVs'(38'-up) and some had a hitch i wouldn't hook a bicycle to.Hope this helps.

Re: Cart Dollies/Platform

Casper,
I saw several of these at Quartzite , AZ last winter. I'm thinking of one for my 5th wheel. I like that they pivot for off level entries and road dips. And they don't drag the wheels to corner. But I haven't found much on people making them either. I can build my own, but am looking for the best idea for the corner wheels. I have also seen them with one center wheel that looks a lot like the rear wheel on a brush hog. The way I understand it , if they mount up on pivot bolts they become part of the RV as far as tagging requirements go, but they add to the overall length limits of your RV. As far as suspension, it's like my motorcycles on the trailer. The trailer can bounce but the bike's or carts own suspension will take care of itself if you anchor it by the axles or wheels and let the body float.

There actually was a guy on here that did a build of a cart rack on the back of his trailer a couple of years ago but I couldn't find it doing a search.
Anyone else remember it?
I think he used 2X4 square tube for the frame and expanded metal for floor.
I remember doing a sketch for ramps for it.

Edit: Found the drawing but wasn't dated.
