club car motor transplant

yes you can do it , and yes if its a 96 or newer rear it will run reverse as forward and visa versa , the problem with this will be top speed in forward will be reduced but torque will increase , so hills will be easier but top speed will be 12-15 mph and reverse top speed will be closer to 20-23 mph which can be dangerous , you can also get high speed gears to correct the problem but then the reverse problems get crazy like 40 mph top speed in reverse.

where you at in pa?

I think this cart is an 88 id have to look at the tag but it does have forward and rev on rear end he rigged up a lift and ive been working on fixing things up he had the steering on the front of the cart and when you turned the wheel to the right the wheels turned left making new mount for steering so it will turn the right way we have two lifted ezgo and one lifted Yamaha a g22 I like to tinker with them like to take them on the mountain trails better

If the cart is an '88 then you have nothing to worry about with the motor rotation. From 1984 up to 1996 these carts came stock with counter-clockwise-rotating motors. It's the newer ones (1997-up) that are difficult to deal with because they came with clockwise motors.
