I need a picture please
 

I just picked up a 4 wheel HD gas (about 1980) still have to run the #'s.
It has a tarp strap on the rear of the engine. It seems to me that there is supposed to be a rod of some sort that should be there.? (I think my long gone 77 3 wheel had a rod there)? Just need to see what I'm missing. Also, it goes OK, hills eat it alive. (It did climb the ramps to get up into my pick up tho)?? I was told if I play with forward/reverse lever it will give more speed when it seems to be running slowly. I dont know if I can rebuild the switch ?

yep a rod from the rear axle to the engine fan housing is whats there,

playing with the f/r switch is not going to make any difference with your speed.
If you need the rod and mount that your missing let me know I have a few laying around.
