Personality switch for Alltrax

Tried to save a few bucks and make my own personality switch for my Alltrax 300 but not having any luck. I've built the switch using the drawing found on this sight with just three wires going from a plug that fits the J4,5,and 6 connector going to a three position, three pin switch. I've got the profiles saved in the tool kit, however no matter what position I have the switch in, it only runs in the "user" mode, which I have set to run the cart fast. In the tool kit under the monitor tab, I see user 1, 2, and 3. If I put the switch in what I think is the user profile position, the user 3 dot shows high lighted in the monitor tab, any other position of the switch high lights all three user buttons in the monitor tab. Hope my description makes sense. I do have the program in dual switch in the tool kit as well.

Make sure the wire coming from the Alltrax controller J4, the only wire that has 48v when the key is ON, is connected to the center terminal of your SPDT switch.

The other two wires get connected to the sides of the switch, one in each side.

Put the Alltrax software in the Monitor screen and look at the bottom right of the Screen for the "Selected Profile" as you try all three positions of your switch.

Label the switch as You see what position is "User 1" and "User 2", the center OFF position of the switch is Normal mode.

The "User 3" is the charger interlock and ON means the charger is not plugged in the cart (or the OBC is by-passed).

So J4 should be pin 1 on the connector in the attached drawing correct? OBC has been removed.

It doesn't say user "profiles" but I assume your revering to user 1 and user 2 in the photo above. This is not a screen shot of my tool box, its just a generic photo I took from the web.

Yes, J4 is pin #1, I mentioned the voltage reading since that is a good way to verify the connector was properly oriented.

That looks like an older version of the Alltrax software, are You running the latest 3.8 version?

That "Bad Var Code: 265" should not be there.

It should look like the picture below (this was from version 3.6):

I know I don't have that throttle linearization tab either.

Go to Tools->Options and enable "Show Throttle Linearization Curve:

Im getting 52V going to center pin on my switch, and 0 to the other pins. When I flip my switch to either positions other then the center both user 1 and 2 inputs light up in the toolkit software.

What kind of switch are you using?

You can always just touch the wires without the switch to verify there is no short in your wiring.
