2014 TXT 48V wont run (i think wiring issue)

3 Attachment(s)
Hello from Nashville! Frst post but I'vs found a lot of great info on other projects. Just bought a new project cart and it wont run (knew that when i bought it) it has good batteries each tested 8.4v and the series tested 50.4v. I have attached some pictures of what it looks like in there and it seems its totally missing a run/tow switch and other wires seem goofy. Just looking for some insight or an eagle eye to catch something I'm not seeing. Thanks!!

I've taken apart a few 48v ezgo and some things I'm noticing on yours..

I've NEVER seen a buzzer wired inline down there by the controller for one, and if the run/tow switch is missing from the controller cover that would be the first thing to replace to get the cart running, especially if the batteries are fine

Everything else appears normal to me

There was no controller cover at all when I got it. I don't see a place where the run/tow wire would connect. Wouldn't that normally plug into the controller? Where would i wire that switch in?

I believe the buzzer is there because they added on that would run in FWD and Reverse. It was in an airplane manufacturing building and they had to have running noise any time the cart was in motion inside the warehouse.

Where does the buzzer normally go and where is it usually wired in?

On all the ones I've worked on its wired by the key switch and mounted with rivets to the glove box on the passenger side.

The plug that isn't connected to anything connects to your run/tow switch. I apologize for not having better pictures stored on my phone, i checked. The cover and tow switch missing is the first problem. Without the switch you can't attempt to run the cart.

That makes sense. I originally thought it wasn't for that because it only had two wires and I thought the run/tow switch was supposed to have 4. Can I temporarily direct connect those two wires to see if that will remedy the situation?

Thanks JonnieB! Those are great. What is the order I should test things in? Like from Pack to Motor what is the route the power goes? I get power to lights, have proper pack voltage, and when the key is on I get a reverse buzzer but no movement. Is the solenoid the next point in the map?

I'd start with Chapter J then K.

Other than sharing the same batteries in some instances, the lights and other 12V accessories have nothing to do with the cart moving.

The electrical portion of the cart's drive train is divided into two circuits, low power and high power.

The low power circuit is the switches whose contacts need to be closed to get the solenoid to activate, so the first question is: Does the solenoid click when No charger is connected to cart, the Run/Tow is in Run, the keyswitch is ON, either F or R is selected on the F/R selector and the pedal is pressed.

If it doesn't, verify battery pack voltage (50.9V when fully charged) is on the controller's pins the mentioned switches are connected to. If any of the voltages is missing fix that switch circuit. If they are all there, the controller or solenoid is bad.

-----------
The high power circuit consists of three parts, Armature circuit, Field circuit and throttle circuit.

The solenoid does not click when the pedal is depressed. i just opened up the ITS box and the plunger is functioning properly but the solenoid is not clicking when the plunger goes into the ITS. Bad ITS Sensor you think??
