2007 EZGO PDS problem
I have a 2007 EZGO PDS. Bought it with dead batteries. I replaced batteries now forward will lurch forward and then stop. I put it in reverse, buzzer sounds but nothing when I press the pedal. Solenoid doesn't even click.
I jumped the solenoid and, with wheels off the ground, it runs in forward like crazy but still nothing in reverse. I did the diagnostic and I get just one beep to let me know it's in diagnostic but nothing else. Any advise? |
Re: 2007 EZGO PDS problem
Sounds like a bad controller.

Re: 2007 EZGO PDS problem
Any way it could be throttle sensor or something that doesn't cost $600? Is there a way to test for it without taking it to someone? I don't want to throw parts at it.

You have at least two problems and based on the information provided in your first post, everything except the controller has been eliminated from the suspect list. However, there is a possibility you may also have a bad solenoid or a bad pedal switch, in addition to the bad controller. 1. Solenoid does not click. On the attached schematic, you have to have battery pack voltage on all the pins with red highlighted wires attached to get the solenoid to click. You can put the controller in diagnostic mode and the tires will spin in Forward when they are off the ground, so we know the reed switch, Run/Tow switch, Key switch and F/R switch is good, plus the motor is functioning. That leaves the Pedal switch, the solenoid coil and the controller. 2. With tires off ground, tires spin in forward, but not in reverse. The controller sends amps through the field windings in one direction for forward and the other direction for reverse. We know the F/R switch is working because the tires spin in the air when in Forward and the controller goes into the diagnostic modem so the F/R switch is sending the Reverse signal to the controller, also, the reverse beeper sounds when in reverse. That eliminates the F/R switch, which leaves the controller. At this point, I'm 99.9% sure you have a bad controller. If you plan on using the cart for anything other than playing golf, this would be a good time to upgrade the controller and solenoid. An Alltrax XCT400PDS will up the top speed from 18 MPH to about 24 MPH at 36V on stock height (18") tires, but it is user programmable, so you can limit it to a lower top speed. BTW: You can download the service, parts and owner manuals here: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...g-manuals.html They are the three PDF files near the top of the page. |

Thanks for the advice. Gonna get it in the shop. I'll post results.

Re: 2007 EZGO PDS problem
New solenoid, new controller, $700 later it's good as new.
