Fair Price For This Cart?
Hi All,
I have been keeping an eye out for an inexpensive yet in decent shape cart for the past few months. I had yet to find anything in my price range until today that is. My local Cart store has a consignment as is asking about $2k for it. It seems to be in pretty good condition for something made in 1997. All I know is that it's a 1997 and its a 48v Club Car. They have put brand new batteries in it and are putting a decent pair of pre-owned tires on the back. The current ones back there are bald. And they are going to update the windshield bracket things that holds it on. Do you guys think $2k is a fair price for this? It seems pretty nice for what it is but it IS pretty old. I appreciate any thoughts or suggestions. We are just wanting a cart to ride our two little kids around the neighborhood and to the pool so Id really hate to purchase an overpriced and old moneypit. https://i.ibb.co/1M7LStN/IMG-6053.jpg https://i.ibb.co/Yp0BxXL/IMG-6054.jpg https://i.ibb.co/R6jqS5v/IMG-6055.jpg |
Re: Fair Price For This Cart?
Age of batteries will play into the value. Personally I wouldn’t pay more than maybe 1500 or 1750 depending on the type of controller set up and age of batteries it has.

Re: Fair Price For This Cart?
I may be late with this reply since you already decided to pass on it. Not sure where you are located but as others have said that price could be very good or very high depending on the market for them.
Where I am, used carts in any drive-able condition are going to cost upwards of $1400. Add new batteries to it and you are at the sellers price point. If you like it, and good used carts are scarce, don't be afraid to go for it. My old buggy does just what I need it to and it totes me and my bride 8 to 12 miles every day. It was $1750 and then I added over $2500 in accessories. And it still has the 2013 batteries it had when I bought it. I could put new batteries in it and sell it for, maybe $2500! Did I over-invest? Not a bit! |

With new batteries it seems like a very fair price.
