Lowering an EZGO
2008 EZGO and I just want to lower it a couple inches. I've read through the threads here on doing it but I still don't understand a few things.
I don't want to run air shocks, I'm not looking to go that low. In the back I see I can put a 2" block in but who makes 2" shorter non-air shocks for the rear? In the front I see where people have cut the shock mounts and moved them down with air shocks. Again no air shocks so I'm looking for shorter front shocks as well and I'm wondering how is the front lowered? Is it only being lowered by moving the shock mounts? One more question, it looks like the front sits a little higher then the rear in stock form, if the back it being lowered 2" from the block should I go 3" in the front to make it look right? Thanks guys... |
Re: Lowering an EZGO
ive never personally tried to lower the rear but fliping the leaf spring in the front will drop you about two inches for cheap, you just need to find a shorter front shock. i still have the original shocks in front and they are bottomed out. make it ride rough but looks awesome.hover between the first two images to show the height difference.

Re: Lowering an EZGO
I flipped my springs but it was too low and the front wheels would hit the guards so instead I got my springs reset by a suspension shop. I got it down 1" looks better and doesn't rub, also shockies work great so I didn't need to replace them.

Re: Lowering an EZGO
Sorry guys haven't been on in awhile. These are the only pics I have of it. It's lowered 2" with 10" wheels. I lowered it with a block in the back and flipped the springs in the front. I got the shocks at O’Reilly Auto Parts, I brought one of the OEM shocks in and they did some research and found shorter shocks that bolted right in.
I'm going to put a back seat on it that's what those brackets are for. I made and exactly replica of the front seat just smaller. http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...g/IMG_5632.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...g/IMG_5633.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...g/IMG_5634.jpg |
