Precedent battery install 8-6volts charge ?
Hi I just installed 8 6volt batts in my precedent and was wondering what voltage I should be getting for a full charge ? I noticed my charger shut off and on at 57volts but then kicked on steady and is charging again. Also seems like the batts really smell more then normal.

While charging 60-65 volts is normal, fully charged batteries Should read 49.5 volts after they have been off charger for 12 hours some will read a little more. My batteries read 50.2 right now.

A fully charged 48 volt pack should read 50.96 after a 12 hours rest off the charger, 49.52 is 70% charged.... did you run the ground wire through the OBC?

Charger finally shut off and batts are at 52.75 so it seems everything is good. And yes I did run the ground wire through the OBC I switched over to 4gauge wire.

Looks good,chargers run in 3 stages,1st about 5 min. to check state,then charge for 1-5 hours depending on state of charge,then shut off again ,then start for final "equalize"
