Power Reducer mounting location
Just picked up a reliance 30amp reducer. I have a 2011 Precedent. Anyone have issues mounting it on the plastic inside the battery compartment. I’m running 8vdc batteries and there is not a ton of space. I know they say they get hot but it’s only 30amp and not going to be drawing that much. Problem is it’s a lot bigger then most I have seen. Just wondering if anyone has mounted there.

I have mine (as do a lot of others) mounted on the steel plate behind the front suspension. This is very solid and also acts as a heat sink. It is convenient to the dash wiring, especially if you are running it through the key (either with a 5 wire converter or a relay on a 4 wire converter). |
Re: Power Reducer mounting location
I mounted one on a plastic inner fender once without issues. The best location should have plenty of air circulation for cooling. If you are concerned about melting the plastic you could use some standoffs to allow air to pass between the bottom of the reducer and the mounting surface.

Re: Power Reducer mounting location
The Precedent is designed to have the reducer mounted where yawood posted.
You should also get the Precedent specific converter harness adapter that is a plug and play right up on the front. |

Re: Power Reducer mounting location
Do I have to remove the body to mount it to that location?

To connect the converter into the dash and bucket harness you need to remove the small dash insert where the key switch is mounted. |
