I'm getting close to wrapping my wiring up on this. what gauge wire should I go with for the forward, reverse and solenoid wire (smaller wires)

16g is all that is needed anywhere in the carts control circuit (small wires)

You didn’t state whether your new batteries were 6V or 8V. Since you are doing all this, now would be the best time to upgrade to 48V. You will not regret it. Also, your 36V motor will run really well on 48V so that should be your last upgrade. See my sig. JMHO

thanks for all of the replies guys! that was quick. @haulna$$ I stayed with 36v because I will likely get to use it on occasion and the wife will probably be driving it the most. I ended up not going with the plum quick motor. just changed the solenoid, speed controller, batteries and wiring for now...

still trying to get this thing wired up. does anyone have a wiring diagram that shows an sr400 wired up to a 93 solid state? I feel like I'm missing wiring and also have a few that I cannot figure out were they go. I was told the M- to A2 would be deleted. Also trying to figure out where the j4 and j5 go exactly.

There are several ways to wire your cart. I have attached one way to do I’d which is probably the easiest way and works well as long as the V-Glide is working properly and adjusted to remove any slack in the throttle and engage all the contact pads properly. You also need to add a straight jumper wire from post 2 to post 3 as shown in the second pic. HTH
