Yamaha G29 controller
I have negative battery pack on key switch.
Could this be anything but a controller malfunction |
Re: Yamaha G29 controller
Well, since the key switch gets its power from the Tow/run switch, not the controller, I would check that tow/run circuit.

Re: Yamaha G29 controller
I’ll check that. I thought I read it came from pin 8 on the 26 pin plug.

Re: Yamaha G29 controller
I have positive full battery pack at the tow switch. I recheck key switch and I definitely have negative full battery back at the key switch.

Re: Yamaha G29 controller
I saw that you were reading a "negative" voltage at the key switch. That is not possible if your reference point is B- . Put the black lead of your voltmeter on B- at the battery pack and leave it attached there. Use the red lead to make all measurements. With the key "on", you should see +48V on both the red/yellow wire and the red/white wire on the key switch. The red/white wire goes from the key switch to pin 8 on the controller.

Re: Yamaha G29 controller
Sorry I wasn’t clear. I have zero volts. But if I move the lead from neg battery to the positive one I have full voltage.

Re: Yamaha G29 controller
Make all voltage measurements with the black lead attached to B-
The red/yellow wire on the key switch comes directly from the output side of the tow/run switch. When the tow/run switch is in "run" you should have +48V on both sides of the tow/run switch and also on the red/yellow wire at the input side of the key switch. |

2 Attachment(s)
I have zero volts
I have full battery pack going into tow switch and at the run post of tow switch I have two Spliced wires connected which have a negative charge. |
Re: Yamaha G29 controller
When the tow/run switch is closed in the "run" position, both posts of the switch are connected together. Therefore, you should read the same voltage on both sides. If not, the tow/run switch is bad.
