Tire question-SLIME tire sealant

Big problem w/ cactus on ranch. Tires have more holes than a screen door.
22" tires. Have a 16oz bottle of SLIME tire sealant. How much do I put into 1 tire?
Thanx in advance.

I'd go half 8oz ? IDK? but... That way there would be liquid in there to plug new holes as they happen.
Think you need better tires, more plies

I was thinking 8oz also. Thanks again.
BTW, yes it seems unfathomable a cactus needle would penetrate these Mohave II 4 ply nylon tires but they do. The tire has 13 very, very tiny holes located between the lugs. Holes so tiny the bubbles formed by the leaking air are barely discernible.

The tire will need a supply of wet sealant inside ready to plug the leaks as they happen... bummer.
What's the name of that cactus?

Several varieties of cactus (AKA prickly pear) here in Central Texas. Some w/ short tiny needles, some w/ 1" long needles, most w/ straight needles some w/ curled needles. Most common on my place is the 'Texas prickly pear', and others, and "Horse Crippler" which is a "bulb" cactus half buried in the dirt, barely visible above ground and w/ ugly spines which will puncture through a flipflop and truck tire in a New York heartbeat. Google Cacti of Texas.

I have had pretty good luck with that stuff on lawn tractor tires. But, if that tire is worth saving I would probably put a tube in it on a cart.

If tubed use 2 boots  lol

We have a cactus called the pencil cholla here in the So Cal Mojave desert. Google that bastird - I remember running into in the dark and pulling my pants down right there to remove a hundred or more 1 inch long barbed spikes from my leg :help:

Mooncarter and Scottyb those are some cool buggies. Mine is plain Jane factory green w/ tan seat. Ho Humm. Tube in it? You mean tube then add slime? That's probably an 80 dollar bill. Cheaper to add Slime to tire and if that piths off the tire guy it's otherwise known as "it's your job live with it".

Pencil cholla in the dark at 15mph, YIKES! I hit a goal post at that speed one time and I thought it took my shoulder off. Got the 6 points though. To this day when I see a goal post I have a flashback.

And your increased bill due to the extra cleaning I have to do, "it's your bill, live with it". If your rim is so corroded & rusty, air leaks out through the rim, "it's your rim.....". And I wont be trying to capture any slime that spills out either, if you want it back, itll be in a puddle out back by the tire machine. :lhmo:

Thanks for the compliment.

No, no, no. If you put a tube in it forget about the slime.

Also, I haven't used the slime in a while but if I remember the directions they call for you to use more in some of the smaller tires. It's all right there on the label.
