2013 Yamaha drive g29 gas leaking transaxle oil from axle bearing area
I have a 2013 gas Yamaha drive g29 leaking oil from axle bearing area. Does the axle seal have to be replaced by splitting the case and doing it from the inside? I also cannot locate a part number for the axle seal. Has anyone on this forum ever replaced these seals? If so how difficult is it? One other question is the owners manual calls for 1.75 quarts of yamalube friction modified or a certain amount of 80-90 gear oil and g15 additive. I can’t find g15 only g5. Is that a typo or is there a g15?? Thanks in advance

It is a typo, it should read GL-5. I used Trans-X Posi-Trac Additive # 402508.

Re: 2013 Yamaha drive g29 gas leaking transaxle oil from axle bearing area
The 2013 G29 with a Team transaxle does require the case to be split to replace the inner axle seal. They get hard, dry out and crack. Or if the rear axle bearing fails and the axle comes out, it will damage the seal.
I will find the part numbers |
