New to me Winchester model 1892 in 32WCF built 1911

For shooting and hunting fan's out there......I came across this Winchester Lever action, model 1892, in 32WCF (or 32-20). The rifle is 108 years old!!! Most of the bluing is gone....a lot of patina.....but the action is smooth as all get out and it locks up tight!! Full octagon barrel, full length mag tube, wood is banged up but no splits or cracks!!! I'm waiting for brass 'n lead to arrive.....then load and shoot!!!

I think I already know the answer but; Do you plan on restoring it or keeping it as is showing all that great history?

Beautiful piece of history you have!

I'm not going to do anything to the rifle as far as refinishing it. It's a fine piece of 108 year old history that I believe, will still shoot fine. My plan is to load up "rabbit fart" loads using lead bullets and Trail Boss powder. Easy on the rifle and just fun to shoot!!!

Nice rifle. Ya, I would be more concerned if the ammo was from 1892......

Sweet rifle. Trailboss is definitely the way to go with a BP cartridge. By the terms you use I can tell you have plenty of experience so you don't need any advice from me. Enjoy it to the fullest.

My favorite shooter is a Marlin 1895CB. About 13gr of Unique under a custom mold 385gr RNFP lead bullet makes it work like a laser. Slow and heavy makes it penetrate like a freight train.

Yeah......big 'n slow will run through anything when compared to light 'n fast. I have a Marlin 1895XLR in 45-70. I load 'n shoot 405gr. RNFP using the lowest charge of RL7. That 405 chunk of lead never met a whitetail it wouldn't go all the way thru.
