TXT - PDS Odd problem
Good morning, we’ve got a PDS based TXT, all stock that is acting odd.
When you push the throttle you can hear solenoid engage, but then you can hear it drop out after a second or so. Have run troubleshooting through step 45 per the guide and can’t locate the problem. Have tested with known good solenoid also. Any suggestions would be appreciated. |

If so, have you tried putting the cart in self-test mode? The procedure is described on the decal located on the plastic "bubble" that covers the controller and solenoid. In self-test mode the controller should beep a fault code when you attempt to drive it. |
Re: TXT - PDS Odd problem
36v and no fault codes from controller. Has single beep which is correct for the mode it’s set for.

Re: TXT - PDS Odd problem
Have you checked the throttle sensor. It should have about 14 volts excitation voltage going in and about 1.5 to 3 volts coming out depending on throttle position.
Also, here is a link to a helpful bench test procedure for the controller http://www.programainc.com/info/G632...oller_test.pdf |
Re: TXT - PDS Odd problem
ITS is good per the troubleshooting guide.

Re: TXT - PDS Odd problem
Could still use some help on this one.
Would a bad speed sensor in the motor cause the solenoid to latch for a second or so then unlatch ? |

What is the battery pack voltage? (38.2V is fully charged for Trojan batteries and 38.5V is fully charged for US Battery batteries.) With fully charged batteries, you ought to have FULL battery pack voltage on all the pins and connections with red highlighted wires attached to them on the attached schematic to get and keep the solenoid energized. With cart ready to be driven except for the pedal not pushed, you should have steady FULL battery pack voltage on all the highlighted pins and connections except J4 Pin-1 (Pedal switch return). Monitor each while pressing pedal just far enough to make solenoid click and see if any drop in voltage. |
Re: TXT - PDS Odd problem
Battery voltage is 38.75 approx 12hours after charger disconnected.
Noticed an odd symptom, had cart jacked up with wheels off ground when testing circuits. Depressed throttle with key on and in forward, Tow/Run switch in run mode and got the same solenoid engage then disengage, however I then started getting a 2 pulse beep sound. Would beep 2 times, then several seconds, then beep 2 times again. This continued until I turned off key switch. All voltages check as per the schematic shown, including Pin 1 of J4 with throttle pressed to activate micro switch in throttle box. |
Re: TXT - PDS Odd problem
You are probably hearing the controller beeping the self-test fault code we discussed previously. I am assuming that your controller is still in the self-test mode. To be sure, put the tow/run switch back in tow, turn the key off and put the cart in neutral. Next, return the tow/run switch to run and toggle the F/R switch from neutral to reverse five times (five beeps) wait a few seconds and hear 1 beep confirmation that you are in self-test. Next, turn the key on and put the cart in FWD and step on the throttle. At this point you should hear the controller beep a code. A 1-1 code is controller failure, a 2-2 code is overvoltage which is not likely since you measure about 38 volts.

Re: TXT - PDS Odd problem
Following your procedure, I get a 1-1 which would indicate a controller failure.
