connectors and wires question

what if any wires/connectors should get warm/hot while running for a short time? I have one batt. connector that gets very warm and a wire from a batt. post that goes to the controller( I think ) that gets warm.I have ordered replacement batt. cables ( 4g). My batteries reads 6.38v at each post after a charge, it does ok on flat land but is very slow uphill which I do ride very little. I'm just cruising around the house/neighborhood till the spring time when I drop it off at the camper park.

What is the year and what type of Cart?
Series, DCS, or PDS.
Below is a chart to look at to help you identify the drive system.
If you can hold your hand on it longer than 10 seconds your ok. If you touch it and snatch your hand right away you have a resistance in the wire. Install the new 4g you have coming and then see what it does. you should see a improvment going up a hill but its not gonna be dramatic.

Also look at upgrading you F&R switch to a HD one. Then save up for a larger controller and then you will have a lot of fun!

yeah, Im still trying to figure out he electrical upgrades( best way to go ). Mostly this was bought for the camper park to tool around on to the beach and back and cruise a little with the kids. But I did lift it and put 22" tires and rear seat so I know its straining some too. should I do a solenoid too?? and does scottyb have a package for this? I was going to pm him after the holidays and see what I could do..

Re: connectors and wires question

Yep we both have packages for the Series carts.
Start with the wires and Switch. Then you can decide if you want to stay 36 volt or go 48. You can then upgrade the solenoid and controller for that application. Talk to plumquick about your motor.

by switch you mean the key? If so what does that have to do with making it better? A 48v would mean a different charger too right? Also I guess I didn't really pay attention to your banner for the .com so I didnt know you were in buisness too. I will check out your site this evening. Thanks for the help

Re: connectors and wires question

I meant the Forward reverse switch. You can use the cart charger and a automotive charger or upgrade to 48volt charger.
