Losing solenoid activation circut

This is for the experts,I can't find a reason for it?Cart is a 2000 regen, new solenoid,controller,motor,4ga cables, ignition sw,and harness. If the cart sits with tow/run sw in tow or if batteries are disconnected for any reason I no longer have solenoid activation, circut is dead.Jump power to it and the batt light will come on briefly and the circut is back.As long as power is kept on the cart it won't happen again.Oh forgot,OBC is also new.Just wondered if anyone had ideas,I certainly can deal with it but one of those things that bugs me..Thanx Dave:thumbdown::thumbdown:

Hey davet,
try another solenoid (old one if U still have it),
and the old load load resistor which crosses the solenoid post .

Did it do this before U started upgrading all the parts ?

Re: Losing solenoid activation circut

hey Gary, thanx for the reply,I was beginning to get a forum complex, not even any funny answers, this cart was a salt water swimmer and I figured fixing it would teach me something. The 2000 regen doesn't have precharge resistor or a small terminal diode.I think thats on track contoller is losing capacitor charge, but I don't know why..The poop sheet with the controller wired around the regen braking solenoid which eliminated it from the system so I didn't replace it,activation wires just tucked into the harness, yesterday I tied them together to complete the circut, sat all night in tow mode and worked this morning??May be something the obc or controller was looking for??Dave

Re: Losing solenoid activation circut

Dunno, hope it keeps working though, the new OBC's have a lot of decisions they make
but keeping the cart from running when everything else is working is not one .
I'll get off so the experts can respond

Re: Losing solenoid activation circut

A saltwater IQ could possible be the worst electrical nightmare, .... these carts can be a challenge when not submerged. The salt will continue to work on the cart in secret.
P.S.
the solenoid has a built-in resistor 8)

Thanx guys, doing this cart wasn't the smartest move I have ever made, but in my own defence I wanted to learn alittle about sparkies and now I can read the forum and have some idea of what your talking about.Anyone can right a check but to build your own piece is way more fun,and when that person walks up and says "NICE CART MAN"who did this or that,I don't have to say "EH I don't know I bought it that way".Dave
Hey Fixer:Get the life boats ready, more rain comming Sun:thumbdown::thumbdown::thumbdown::thumbdown:
