2008 club car precedent battery issue

I have an 08 club car precedent that was gifted to me by my workplace as they were planning on scraping it, it was said that the car worked fine but the batteries were severely undercharged and had to be charged with car charger before the power drive would be able to pick it up. I checked the batteries with a voltometer and all read under 7v one of which had less then 1v so I began trying to charge then with a charger I bought and I was able to here life out of the cart via the reverse buzz but no movement so I continued charging the battery and I got them all up to 10.7v and attempted to use the power drive but no luck so I left it alone this was last night. Oh and I'm working with 4-12v set up so this morning I checked the voltage and they had dipped back to 7v mind you I haven't checked my water levels but I plan to do so this afternoon after I purchase a hydrometer from oreillys to test each cell. Would low liquid levels cause the batteries to not hold charge? And do you think I can resalvage these batteries or would I need new ones? The cart belonged to a dealership and was used by the mechanics to get around the dealership but I guess they weren't interested in salvaging it. It's not in horrible shape it just needs new seats. Any help/pointers/advice you guys may have would be great! Thanks for your time!

If you got it free , then just get some batteries for it as it sounds yours are toast...

I would say more than likely your batteries are toast. Have any pics of this thing?

Yeah I can get some pics this afternoon around 6pm cst. I know purchasing new batteries would be best but I was trying to get it charged so that I can test the cart itself before I spend 600 on batteries and then find out the carts bad. So far I know the cart can receive power I just want to know that the motor works and drives forward and backward before I dive into batteries I'll sign in around 7pm with pics of it.

Re: 2008 club car precedent battery issue

On an Interstate, battery A9 would be January 2009. And seeing as it was used commercially I'm sure it ran a lot. They are dead, dead, dead. They likely won't hold enough charge to move the cart. Even if you get a voltmeter reading close to 12 as soon as you press the accelerator they'll drop below low voltage shutdown. That cart, even in rough shape, is worth more than the cost of 4 12v batteries. Just the battery cores are worth $30 or more each. The Precedent is a pretty solid cart with few failures, and even then only the MCOR usually fails. Pop in a new set of batteries and I bet you're golden. Also, looks like the front end needs alignment

I don't know interstate batteries but those may not be golf cart batteries anyway , just deep cycle...
