K&N Air Filter - Better performance

I am new to the buggy world, and I just started to rebuild my grandparents old 1988 GAS Ezgo Marathon. I will also add, that I am not a mechanic and don't claim to be, so forgive my ignorance on any of my questions.

Has anyone ever tried to put a K&N air filter on a stock robins motor?

Would I need to adjust the carb, to account for the change in air possibly?

I'm just looking for a little help with hills in the neighborhood. Any simple easy ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I doubt that you'd notice any difference with the K&N. More important would be a tune-up, valve adjustment, and a new belt.

Thanks Dave!
The main thing I want to make sure it wouldn't mess anything up. It will get the big air filter assembly out of the way. This old cart has coil springs in the back, so I am thinking that after I get the lift on it, I might put air bags in there to help it with the weight of extra passengers. I could mount a small air pump in its place.

Any thoughts?

Is this a 2 stroke or 4 cylinder

2 stroke. I installed one and i haven't had any issues with it (knock on wood).

I have a 1986 2 stroke 2pg I put a cold air filter kit from O'Reillys can't tell much difference because I was having issues with it getting hot and wouldn't crank it was turning over and plenty of fire wait 15 minutes it would go after studding and asking questions on here I'm leaning toward the secondary driven clutch the buttons are wore down enough it's scrubbing metal to metal when it finally ingages i just ordered $250 worth of clutch, belt and puller.
