Where did you mount your reducer?

I’m looking at installing a 12v reducer on my DS. The plan would be to have the 12V to be key switched via a relay. Where did y’all mount your reducers? Any pictures or tips are appreciated!

Post a pic. It it is the finned aluminum type, up under the from cowl is where I have mounted them.

Before I converted to lithium, I had mine under the rear access cover. I mounted a 2" x 1/8" piece of aluminum across the 2 frame rails in the back. My controller was mounted beside my reducer (blue one in this pic)

Shows where I added that extra aluminu with the body off

If you don't mind seeing a couple screw heads from the outside, there are a few places beneath the seat around the body you can use.

I mounted mine where Nole said. The beauty of that spot is that the reducer is attached to a thick metal plate which will act like a good heat sink.

I mounted my RHOX Volt reducer to my DS car frame channel to existing factory holes in the frame. The reducer fits in the frame channel for good protection. Look below the factory OBC location and you will see the pre-drilled holes. TahoeDawg suggested this location and it worked great.

What year is your DS? If it's a Pre 2006 with the six 8Volt battery configuration, there's already a factory location for a reducer on the frame beam. Hunter450 mentions this above. Order the factory "style" reducer and you won't have to worry about finding a place to put it, or adding a relay. It has a turn on wire that can run directly to the keyswitch. It's much easier and very reliable. The part number is VOLT-2002

Mine is an 03. I’ll do a quick search for the stock one. That makes the most sense
