I didn't go cheap as when I decide to buy a tool, I try to buy the biggest/best I can afford and at the same time try to get something bigger than I need at the present time so I can grow into it.

I have a Longevity 110/220 plasma that will cut 3/4" and sever 1". I've tried it and it will do what they say it will. Cuts 1/4" to 1/2" like butter.

But I look forward to your review of the one you ordered.

I bought a collosal tech cut50d off ebay about a year ago and it works awesome for the money. I haven't tried mine with 110v yet but 220 it walks the dog. Although I didn't use the air fitting it came with, I used a set of push lock 1/4" fittings with dot air line I had from a previous project because I was reading about the leaks with the stock fittings.

It looks there are MANY different names and prices for the same 50 amp 110/220 machine.I also seen the youtube video and was going to rig the air inlet with a quick fitting as you suggest.Should be here in the next couple of days.

Re: cheap plasma cutter

A suggestion.......... Put a good water filter on your compressor and then another on the line you connect to your plasma cutter.

Moisture can cause lots of problems with a plasma cutter. Mine has an internal water filter but I also put one on the main line coming out of my compressor and then another on my cart I have my welder and plasma cutter on. I've not had any moisture problems so far.

Re: cheap plasma cutter

The plasma cutter came yesterday.Ran a new 220 line today. It came with a water separator so I will use the second one at the compressor. The biggest steel I had laying around was 1/2 inch.Once I got the hang of using the cutter it cut the 1/2 like butter. For $210 delivered WOW what a machine! I think it weighs 19 lbs.The youtube cut 50 amp videos accurately show the machine and what it will do.

Are replacement parts and consumables readily available?
