New OBC now charger won't shut off
I put a new OBC in my 2001 48v series cart and un-hooked the bypass and the cart ran like it should and the solenoid didn't click like crazy like before o bypassed it. We ran the cart for 15 mins or so then I put it on the charger and it started charging. I cut grass for an hour and meter was down then after 2 to 2-1/2 hours meter was just above zero and still charging. I tested pack and it was reading 64.4 volts and I could here batteries bubbling. I unplugged the charger. I know the batteries are good and I know the charger is good I use it on my 1998 cart all the time. What is wrong? Does the obc need to have a learning curve? Or did I need to set it up when I installed it? Thanks

Re: New OBC now charger won't shut off
The first time (maybe more) that You charge after the OBC resets, it will try to make a baseline charge using a dV/dT algorithm.
Once the OBC has enough data it will then start counting "energy units" being discharged from the batteries and use that data when charging. Just plug the charger in and let it finish its setup cycle procedure. |

Even with the batteries bubbling

yes, batteries bubble. It's okay. You may have never heard that before if your charger or OBC was bad- lol Let er rip. Pack voltage can reach 63-67v at finish.
