Plum Quick installed. Now what?

New here. I've done my research and think I know the answer, but hoping to get some reassurance. I recently picked up a 48v 2004.5 Club Car DS. 9/2012 Trojans. 8/2008 Plum Quick Bandit. Upgraded cables. Stock wheels, controller, gears, etc. Its running 21 mph. What's the biggest bang for my buck to get more speed? (500 amp Alltrax?) And what mph increase should I expect for the investment? Thanks!

FYI, I live in a very flat area so torque is less of a concern.

. . from PlumQuick website:

"Speed up to 25mph (with stock controller, good quality battery pack, and all Regen braking is removed with Bandit upgrade)"

. . . maybe check to see if Regen braking has been disabled in controller? or bigger controller . . . what is your MPH goal?

I thought the regen was automatically disabled when the plum quick was installed. No? I haven't noticed any automatic braking when I let off the pedal, but thats not to say its not there. I have no hills to try to coast down so how do I test?

How much speed? As much as I can get without going so far as paying to upgrade to an Executioner.

thanks

Are there any wires coming from the tail end of the motor to the controller?
If so the controller may be limiting rpm.

Regen test, run up to full speed and slide you foot off of the peddle so it pops up, if you have regen you will feel it then.

I installed the plum quick bandit on my DS also. Last night was the first night warm enough to really test it out. about 21 on flat ground 25 down hill. Wow. That is fast enough. I love it but I really don't think I would want to go much faster on a golf cart.

No wires coming off the motor other than the 4 lugs. I'll have to do the full speed test this evening but I'm pretty sure regen is disabled. If so, how do I get the most speed increase for the least investment going forward?

You have a 48v series cart.
Only a higher rpm motor or taller gears will increase your speed.
You will need a bigger controller, cables, F&R to handle that.
So for low investment you have to be happy where you are at.

Thanks Scottyb. A controller alone won't do anything for me? How involved and costly would taller gears be? At what ratio? And what kind of increase could I expect?

Jack it up with bigger tires

I don't want to lift the cart so I assume 20s is as big as I can fit. 20" is 11% bigger than 18". Does that equate to an 11% increase in speed?
