EZGO PDS speed
What's the best(if there is one) and most durable way to get more speed out of a ezgo pds cart, providing you have a higher amp controller and are on 48v w/23's.
(a) hi speed motor (b) torque motor w/ 8:1 or 6:1 gears Would one motor be more durable than the other as far as durability? Thanks for any advice. |
Re: EZGO PDS speed
The most important question is "how fast do you want to go"?

Re: EZGO PDS speed
I don't know about durability, but other things that may affect your decision are terrain (off road, on road, hills), and what kind of load will you be carrying (2 or 4 passengers, dump bed, hunting buggy hauling several deer out of the woods, etc).

With 23" road tires, 48V and a controller that doesn't limit motor RPM, you ought to be getting well over 30MPH with your current setup. Mathematically, you would get 35.8 MPH on 23" tires with a 12.44:1 differential ratio, if you could spin the motor at 6,500 RPM. |
Re: EZGO PDS speed
I'd like to go around 32-35mph, my terrain is flat, maybe a couple of hills but, the degree of incline isn't steep at all. Passengers will be 2 or either 3 and sometimes(on occasion) 4. Not any off-roading, just pretty hard-packed dirt roads and highway. Right now I'm at 25-26mph.

Re: EZGO PDS speed
Ours are series and his is a PDS, so he may have to look for a sepex equivalent.

What kind of tires do you have? Off-road or highway? What is max inflation pressure stamped on sidewall? |
