intermittent loss of speed
I have a 2008 48 volt that will "lose power" for no obvious reason. Letting off the throttle and pressing it again starts it back up. Has new batteries but problem existed prior to change. I don't have a clue.

Re: intermittent loss of speed
It sounds like you may have a problem with the MCOR (motor controller output regulator). It's a common problem for the microswitch inside them to work intermittently and randomly fail as you describe.

Re: intermittent loss of speed
What's the best way to check it and just where is it?

Re: intermittent loss of speed
If it's a DS it's mounted on the passenger side frame beam directly under the floormat. If it's a Precedent you'll have to remove the floormat and the access cover. It's mounted next to the accelerator pedal. The best way to check to see if it's dropping out is to get a multimeter with a wire piercing probe. Pierce the green wire of the 2-pin square MCOR connector with the positive lead of the meter. Use an alligator clip to put your negative lead on the main negative battery post. This will show the 48V coming out of the microswitch in the mcor when the pedal is depressed. If the voltage disappears when the car stops, the MCOR is the problem. If the voltage stays consistent, it's not the MCOR

Re: intermittent loss of speed
You nailed it! It came and went right with the meter readings. Where's the best place to get a new one?

From a site sponsor. We have them on our page. Link below. There are also many other fine sponsors that sell them as well.

Re: intermittent loss of speed
I've replaced the mcor and still have the same issue! I'm not sure where to go from here.
