This cart turned out OK. I had painted a couple of cars long, long ago and know how. The spray cans are hard to keep "wet". You almost need two cans at once!
I had my problems with non compatable paint and had to strip it and start over. It actually looks better than it should have with all the bubbling crap I scraped off of it. Lots of prime-sand steps. It's a work cart.
This has no clear coat. Red paint on primer.
I had very little to paint and did the kick plate black bedliner spray.

It also helps if you keep the bomb cans slightly heated. I heat mine in a boiler on the range ("stove" for anyone here from lower Alabama). Don't get them too hot or... well, you'll know if you get to that point, but it helps keep the pressure up in the can and keeps the splatter down. Good luck.

As scottyb said, check out the paint and body section of the forum, subscribe to a bunch of threads, read them good and if you run into questions along the way, just ask. There are some great guys on her to help you like they did with me. I definitely used my resources from this forum! These guys probably got sick of all my questions but I got-r-dun.

I've only used spray cans. It looks great if you clear coat it, but it doesn't last that long.

dont recommend painting with spray paint... I did it and ended up camo wrapping it.

check out my album in the "golf cart pics" section, i painted the whole thing with Krylon spray can paints. I used gloss black and hammered steel. Sprayed the roof with hammered steel and aluminum colors.

This question can always be answered the same way "what kind of finish are you looking for and how much do you want to spend"? I mean you can definately get fairly good results from spray cans just by taking you're time and following directions. If you are after something more durable and a better finish then you should spray it with a gun and clear coat it.
