Powerdrive 1 Charger
I have a Powerdrive 1 charger, it does not go up to high amps like it used to, kinda stays around the 2/3/4/ amp range. I can hear it click, goes to about 3 amps, shuts down, then goes back to the same amp reading. I have replaced the relay, diode and breaker, none of these have made a difference. I have a 1996 Club Car. I also have taken all the battery cables off, cleaned and put them back. Can someone offer me some help/advice? Since the original post I have tried my charger on another cart and it works good. Then tried another charger on my cart and it did the same as mine, so the problem is in my cart, still need help.

Re: Powerdrive 1 Charger
. . . resistor or controller cart? If controller cart, have you tried resetting the OBC (instructions in Stickies)? . . . . dl copy of parts manual below to help you trace wiring, if needed:

Re: Powerdrive 1 Charger
Download a copy of the link I posted above and look thru the electrical section . . from the pics you will be able to identify your cart as resistor or controller type . . . if your cart matches the pics that show an on board computer (OBC) and a controller, you have a controller cart . . . if your cart matches the pics that show a series of coils, it is a resistor cart . . .

Re: Powerdrive 1 Charger
No coils so it must be a controller cart.
