Batteries gassing after short drive
I'll start by saying I am searching, but figured I'd post as well. I drove my 95 36v resistor coil cart about 10 ft tonight to move it around the garage. Afterwards I noticed the sound of very faint gassing. Popped the caps and sure enough they were gassing ever so slightly. Is this normal when not charging? Until now while charging is the only time I thought this happened. Any thoughts are welcome.

Re: Batteries gassing after short drive
a little more thought on this since searching is yielding nothing. I just tonight hard wired a kill switch to my voltage reducer. that's the only change. I turned the reducer off and also unplugged the lights from the harness for good measure. I am thinking that maybe this is normal and only because I had the seat off I was able to faintly hear them?

Re: Batteries gassing after short drive
yes batteries can gas even when not charging
that is why you never have sparks or flames near a battery |

Re: Batteries gassing after short drive
I haven't experienced this so I put the question to Trojan battery.

Hopefully Trojan will give a more in-depth exchange of information. |

I've been known to gas......but only after a big bowl of hot chili and three or four beers.:thumbup::shock::shock:
