New batteries now, or in the spring?

I just closed up camp for the winter and brought the buggy home (2004 Precedent 4/12).
I am going to replace the batteries before camp opens in April with the 6/8 and modified battery bucket.
Should I wait until February / March to purchase the batteries, or would I be ok to get them now?

Wait. They do degrade some just sitting.

I figured I should wait. But I was hoping to get the bucket modified and all new cables before having to "rush" it in late February / early March.

It would depend on your battery supplier. If they can assure you get fresh batteries made in 2017 I would wait. If they would be selling batteries made now then I would probably go ahead and get them. They would be in better condition under your care than sitting in a warehouse.

I'm in the same boat, but I'm waiting till spring for two reason for the warranty and fresh batteries.
