throttle linkage

Can someone tell me the path of the throttle cable where it gets connected from point A to point B. My motor is somewhere between an '84-'87 2pg Robins. I can't figure how you hook the cable up to the carb in the closed position and when you push down on the gas pedal it opens. Please help, loosing my mind here! :lol:
