club car villager 8 after lift kit driver's side brake cable to short

Hi guys,

I just finished putting a Jake's 6 inch spindle lift kit on a 2006 villager 8(think stretched DS). I did so while the body is off at the paint shop. After putting everything back together, the driver's side rear brake cable is a bit short, it will still hook up to the drum on the wheel without binding, but the E-clip will not hold the cable on the bracket without stretching. Whats the best solution? Thanks!

Some people have swapped the left cable with the right cable and had success . .

I am not sure on a Villager, but on my Precedent I just bought a passenger side cable an put it on the drivers side. I have heard of people flipping the bracket on the rear that holds the cable and it gave them enough length.

Good luck!

Thanks for the replies. I tried swapping the cables but they are the same size. Next I tried swapping the rear plates, this was better but still too short. I noticed that they make an extension bracket for club cars. If I can find some stock laying around I will make one otherwise I will order one from one of the site sponsors. Thanks again

Front brakes or rear brakes? I have an '04 Villager 6 and I'm getting ready to lift it. Last summer I did a different Villager 6 with 8 inches and we just lowered the front brake bracket down 3"s for the front.

The rear drivers side brake is the problem. The front is fine.

i,m not sure if you want to go this route or not but if you take the backing plates off and swap them from side to side you than will install them upside down and that gives you the extra lenth for cables......................8)

I tried that, but the driver's side cable still too short

swapping the backing plates is what we did and it worked great with 8" of lift.
