Battery watering
Are there any devices to make the job easier? How often do batteries need water added? Does the frequency change with battery age? Am I correct that it's best to water after a charge, how long after? This is a start. Thanks

Re: Battery watering
Yes there are devises that are "supposed" to make things easier but they rarely do... How often water is needed can not be predicted but new batteries that are well cared for tend to use less water than abused batteries. My 2 year batteries have not needed water yet and sit on a float charger 24/7. I check mine monthly to every six weeks due to my work schedule. Yes water anytime after a charge and only cover the plates by 1/4 to 1/2 inch with distilled water only...

Re: Battery watering
An automatic watering system is an easy addition to you golf cart that will make the job of watering easy and pleasant. The are several on the market and most work well as long as they are properly matched to your carts brand of batteries.

Re: Battery watering
The best thing I have found to put water in the batteries with is a small squirt bottle like you find in restruants with mustard or catchup in them. I use one of those lights you can strap on you head to see with. If you spill any water dry it with a paper shop towel.

Re: Battery watering
I look in every cell of new batteries before charging or riding. The squirt bottle is a good idea. And the bubbling sound from the batteries is not a bad thing. It is hydrogen gas being formed and released from the bottom of the battery. This is a necessary part of each complete charge.
