throttle cable hook up
 

I'm trying to install a new throttle cable on my new to me 1981 Harley gas three wheeler. Under at the pedal attaching point I put the cable in the hole in the lever. It does not move. Also the override spring keeps the lever up against the floor. I know it works backwards, when pedal released it closes the carb.
I can't figure it out. Something is wrong but... The manual really does not explain enough. I really need to see it.

The way the carbs on these carts are clustered against the reed / air canister / mounting hardware all but makes it just about impossible to photograph, unfortunately.

There should be two springs on your set up, the one under the drivers floor and the one on the carb. The cable should be somewhat "balanced" between these springs with the carb one being just a bit stronger thus allowing the carb to close when everything is at rest.
