No reverse buzzer

Got a '98 48 volt DS. I want to do away with the annoying reverse buzzer. Can't slip away from the dogs without them going crazy. I unplugged it and no buzzer, no reverse either. Can I just put the wires together with a butt connector, or will that cause a problem? Any way to easily wire a small light to come on on the dash in place of the buzzer? Don't want the kids to forget it's in reverse and plow into something.

Re: No reverse buzzer

you can put a little tape on it to mute it
a 48v light in the dash will work

Didn't know thay made a 48 volt bulb. That's what I need. Would it me alright to cut the buzzer out completely (jus wire the 2 wires together? I guess the hot from the light could be crimped in the butt connector also. Then should it be grounded to the - on the battery pack?

...in his case a dual ON-ON (no central off position as on the picture), except to block the reverse...
