RXV Curtis Controller date code decipher

I am trying to determine if my Curtis controller is an early or late 2012 manufacture. I have a 2012 RXV and the controller label reads:
Date Code 12034P
Voltage 48V
Current 235A
Model 1206AC-5201
S/W 12

I have checked the Curtis site and had no success.

Thanks in advance for any help provided.

12034 means the year of manufacture is 2012, and day of manufacture is the 34th day in that year.

Thank you Mr. Boyce.

Is this controller one of those that you would be able to modify? I thought I read that the early 2012 units were not able to modify the programming. Although I have been reading so much on the topic I might be confused.

Is your heat shield silver or black. Above the controller there is a plastic black cover right next to it is a metal heat shield.

It is an early Curtis RXV controller, so yes it is reprogrammable. The Danaher controllers used in RXVs manufactured prior to feb 23rd of 2012 are the ones that are not desired. Curtis controllers supplied in the 2020 RXVs are also not desired, if you wish to retain the new cart factory warranty.

I will double-check in a while. I am not with the cart right now. Thanks for the help.

I would like to send the controller to you for modification, if you are still offering that option. I need to get some more posts before I am able to PM.

Thanks, Tim

Can you be a little more specific why?
If the whole cart is present can the new one 2020 be programed like the 2019 model?

Nope, it is not the same...

The Vehicle Control Language (VCL) in the newest RXV controllers has been altered to prevent higher top speeds. They won't even do the Freedom mode speed of 19.5 MPH anymore without my help. Top speed is 15 MPH from the factory. I must reprogram it in a manner that will invalidate the warranty in order to speed it up. An option is to buy an older controller from eBay and save the new controller to reinstall if warranty service is needed. E-Z-GO dealers are having me reprogram them, just so they can be sold now. That has never been an issue before. E-Z-GO is driving the dealers to seek me out.

Ok thank you for your information. If someone would be able to merge 2019 speed parameters VCL in a 2020 .cpf and write it to a 2020 controller that would do the trick as well?

Absolutely not. In order to change any parameter outside of the acceptable VCL limits, writes must be made live to a controller. I cannot write the changes that I make by writing a saved file to a controller. If one wants to modify an OS/VCL that is written to a controller, you'll have to reflash the controller with a precompiled OS/VCL file that is compatible with that controller. These must be downloaded from Curtis, or selected from a library of saved OS/VCL files.

Thank you again. Is there a good way to download OS/VCL files from a Controller? It is a different file than the .cpf file?

It requires an original Curtis 1309 interface with original Factory or Development level EEPROM content. Since the content of the EEPROM cannot be precisely duplicated (checksums must match precisely), you're forced to buy or lease an original from a source within Curtis. I had these when I was a Factory level
OEM. I have an account on the Curtis server for file access.

A tip... If you cannot install the 1314 software completely to full operation without editing the registry to get past the "not configured" error, it will not allow advanced operations.
