Quick wiring hookup question-pics (TD)

5 Attachment(s)
Here's my motor and wiring , and my wiring diagram. I have raised the back wheels off the ground and chocked the fronts. I just want to hook up to one battery (if that will work) to see if the motor spins and wheels turn forward and reverse. I realize all the terminals need cleaning and I plan to replace the wiring
But will this work?
Please confirm how to correctly hook up the leads--
Black to negative, red to positive? white? I'm confused about the white lead...Im having trouble following it in the wiring diagram.
the small red wire on the right is the 12v to the lighting.
thx

a cable from A2 to S1
12V + to S2
12v - to A1
touching A1 will engage motor

bad drawing but it is correct

Re: Quick wiring hookup question-pics (TD)

Great, that worked for me using a 12v car battery. After doing this,I read a post that cautioned it is very dangerous to disconnect the wires from the motor, because if you spin the posts, you can ruin the motor. I know 2 of the posts moved, but the motor was turning. GuessI need to be super careful hooking the wiring back up?

Also, it is running in reverse only (wheels propped up)
I've seen lots of threads about troubleshooting this problem, but cant find them now. could you direct me there? thanks again. If it will run forward and back, it's time to charge new batteries, get some tires and start 'er up.

Re: Quick wiring hookup question-pics (TD)

I was told to hook up two 8 volt batteries in series to make 16v

Then Jump A1 and S1 together

Then Pos to A2 and Neg to S2

Other direction

And Jump A2 and S2 together

Then Pos to A1 and Neg to S1

It worked for me, 48 volt Ruff and Tuff.
