Working cart speed info
 

I'm sure this has been gone over in the past but I cannot seem to find it. I have an 11 precedent with a 6inch a arm lift and 22 inch tires. 12 inch week if that matters. I use my cart mostly as a campground cruiser but do have a hitch on it and occasionally use the cart to work, towing a 4x8 utility trailer. I would like a little more speed but mostly want more torq. The cart will top out at 18 (stock motor and controller ). I was thinking an XCT controller (not sure which one) and possibly a bandit motor (could I tow a realitivly heavy load and not hurt the motor) Speed goal is simply to accelerate like a stock cart. ( mine takes a little time to get moving)

You really need an Admiral A4 motor to meet your needs. I would absolutely put an XCT controller with it and if it were mine, it would be a 500a with a 400a solenoid and 2g cables. Here you go to meet all your needs https://www.revolutiongolfcars.com/c...rs-and-magnets

If you're going to be towing with it, I'd skip the 300 and go straight to the 400 amp XCT. With a 2 gauge full cable set and a 400 amp solenoid, and an XCT400 you'll still be able to use the factory motor. Anything bigger than a 400 and the motor is going to have to be upgraded as well. Normally I tell customers they'll need a minimum of 4 gauge cables and a 200 amp solenoid with an XCT400, but if you're towing you'll need to go bigger with these items. Back to the towing topic.... if you're pulling lots of weight, the motor is going to get hot. Any motor will. Towing with a golf cart is going to shorten the life span of the motor without a doubt. The weight of what you're towing and the duration of time you're towing with it generating heat is going to determine how long it really lasts. If you're towing heavy loads for short distance and keep the motor temperature under control you'll probably be fine, but I wouldn't do anything extreme with it. It's simply not built for it. What will you be pulling?

We have a 4x8 trailer, I have used it to tow around decks and metal sheds at the campground when people move sites. Short distances. Weight not sure 3 or 4 hundred pounds plus what the trailer weighs. This is not a regular thing. I only mentioned it as I dont want to get a go fast motor and destroy it.

That shouldn't be much of an issue as far as the motor is concerned, but i'd still go a step up with the cable set and the solenoid. I'd go with the XCT400, 400 amp solenoid (with suppression diode, without pre-charge resistor) , and a 2 gauge full cable set for your cart. This should get you exactly what you're looking for.
