1989 EZGO Marathon 3pg Troubleshooting
 

Long time listener, first time caller. I have a 1989 Ezgo Marathon, 3pg engine. The other day I was reversing up a minor grade hill and just completely lost acceleration & RPMs. I now have almost no "pull" in forward or reverse and I don't think the engine is actually firing...what little pull I do get (and I mean little) looks to just be from the starter. I ran through all the checks...new carb, new filters, checked flow in all fuel lines, good spark, compression at 120psi. I have new ignition coil on order and would probably go with a new ignitor if the coil proves no help. Just thought I would see if anyone had other items I should troubleshoot. I sure would appreciate any insight!

It was running a little, but I don't like that banging sound.

It was trying to run, Sounds like it's getting spark. You say 120 lbs compression, I'd start with a fuel issue, pull the plug to see if it's wet or dry and go from there

Its wet. Checked the fuel flow at each point in the fuel lines and everything says its getting fuel.

Drive clutch is 1 year old, I’m feeling like it may be drive clutch or hub. ??

It's not the clutch. That engine isn't running right, and I hear a banging sound.
