HD 3B 1977 D Wire's
3 Attachment(s)
I Bought a 3B 1977 D Gas cart Last summer it wouldn't run so i was doing some checking on it couldn't figure it out so i gave up. Started back at it a couple day's and i'm not getting anything when i hooked up the battery. the PO lost the key so i was just joining the wire's to gather. Here is some pic's of the wire's not sure if you can see if things are in there right places. i'm assuming this is the right pic for the wiring
Here are the pics of how mine is wired The pic with the starter there was a wire from F1 that went to the - on the battery don't remember if that was like that before. i put a new carb on and had to take the starter off. what gauge wire should i use if i decide to rewire the cart. also anyone have part #'s for the overload circuit breaker and the solenoid? |
Re: HD 3B 1977 D Wire's

Re: HD 3B 1977 D Wire's
On the solenoid does it matter were the hot goes? on mine the red is on the right?

Re: HD 3B 1977 D Wire's
on the diagram there is 3 wires going to the forward/reverse switch. on mine there is only 2 is that correct? I don't want to start taking wire off if the diagram isn't the right one. don't know if PO change anything

Re: HD 3B 1977 D Wire's
I think my starter may be bad. i did the bench test from the pic on the forum and i get nothing. Can it be rebuild or would it be cheaper to buy a new one

Ok, a bunch of stuff here. First, this is a link to service manual to your cart:
https://www.buggiesgonewild.com/colu...63_1980_GS.pdf You already have the right wiring diagram but the manual will contain all of the schematics that you need. F1 should be wired to the F / R switch. Not sure why yours is going to the battery but it's not correct. For the large terminals on the starter / gen you want 6 gauge wires. On the small terminal you want 12 gauge. |
