New Motor Brush Install

I am replacing the brushes in my CC 36v motor and I'm not sure if there is a certain placement sequence for the brushes. When I disassembled the motor, one pair of brushes were completely destroyed and the cables were no longer connected to them so I couldn't tell how the original brushes were installed. As far as I know, the brushes are the "A" posts on your motor, but does it matter which brushes go to the upper & lower "A" posts? Also, does it matter which mount the brushes are installed on the motor in relation to each other? I'm trying to find a diagram or manual for reference. Thanks.

Shadowman, there were no install instructions included with the new brushes. I guess I'll install new brushes and bench test. Also, can I use my 12 volt lawn tractor battery to bench test? Thx.

I think you get a short lead pair and a long lead pair and once you get started it becomes clear where the longer leads go? no? Otherwise it should not matter....

Scotty, yes each pair of brushes (2 of em) has a short and long lead. So it doesn't matter which mount bracket they get installed in or which stud gets installed as the A1 or A2 post? I'm just double-checking. First time cart owner & first time to work on an electric motor. thx.

Does it matter which brush stud gets installed in the A1 and A2 locations on the motor housing?
